About The Artwork:

Introducing "40" - a special illustration to commemorate my 40th birthday.

In "40," we see two weeping willow trees with their roots intertwined. The weeping willow's symbolism is deeply rooted in its ability to convey a sense of emotional release, a catharsis for the soul. It serves as a reminder that even in times of sadness, there is beauty in expressing one's emotions and finding solace in the healing power of nature. The weeping willow tree represents both the fragility and resilience of the human spirit, inviting us to acknowledge our sorrows while reminding us that new beginnings and growth can emerge from even the deepest of pains.

Braided roots signify a harmonious blending of different elements, fostering stability and resilience. It serves as a reminder that unity and cooperation can create a strong foundation for growth and prosperity. Braided roots also symbolize the deep-rooted connections between generations, highlighting the importance of heritage, ancestry, and the passing down of wisdom from one generation to the next.

This piece was created using watercolor, colored pencils, and ink.

"Here we are, trapped in the amber of the moment. There is no why."
― Kurt Vonnegut
